Jonathan Harris is a World-renowned designer and glassmaker. He bases his leading edge design at two studios in Shropshire, at the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and at the Coalport China Museum. Here progress through innovation, creative drive and passion is combined with ancient craftsmanship to produce sublime, high quality not to mention competitively priced art glass, following in the footsteps of Galle, Carder and Tiffany. Jonathan specialises in hand producing unique coloured studio glass including perfume bottles, vases, bowls and paperweights using several different methods using the finest materials available. Each piece is therefore unique and special. The Cameo and Graal techniques along with the multi layered hot surface decoration enable Jonathan to use tremendous colour scope, shape and pattern. These highly skilled and time consuming processes involve the use of 22ct gold and sterling silver leaf, carving the design through layers of colour and the pieces produced today are refined and detailed. This forms the core of his repertoire and has been involving since the launch of his first collection for Harrods and Liberty’s in 1992 with tremendous success. National Gallery Commission.
